At Picture Partnership, we often say that the most beautiful part of our work is not just capturing a moment – it’s being part of a family’s journey.
Over the years, we’ve had the incredible privilege of welcoming several families back into our Shirley, Croydon studio, near Bromley on the Surrey/Kent borders. Families we first met when they were cradling their tiny newborns now return with chubby-cheeked one-year-olds, ready to smash their first cake or celebrate in gorgeous traditional attire.
Watching these little ones grow, and knowing we’ve been trusted to capture their milestones, is one of the deepest joys of what we do.

Our studio is led by Caroline, our qualified baby photographer with a passion for capturing authentic, heartfelt moments. Caroline and the Picture Partnership team are dedicated to making each session not just a photoshoot, but a joyful, relaxed experience that brings out the best in every family.
✨ The Journey We’re Honoured to Share
There’s something truly magical about photographing a newborn. The soft sighs, the delicate fingers curled around their parents’ hands, the way time seems to stand still in those first few weeks.
Fast-forward a year — and that same little baby is now sitting (or standing!), full of personality, lighting up the room with giggles. For some, it’s a playful cake smash, with frosting-covered fingers and joyful chaos. For others, it’s a proud cultural celebration, like the recent first birthday we photographed where the baby wore beautiful traditional Nigerian attire, honouring family heritage.
But the journey doesn’t stop there. Many of the families we work with have been with us for years — from wedding photos to maternity bumps, newborns to siblings, and now proudly watching their own children grow. In fact, some of the proud parents we photograph today first stepped into our studio when they were young children!
It brings us so much pride and pleasure to capture these special moments and be part of a family’s lifelong journey.

One of our favourite moments recently was seeing a first birthday baby (and their parents!) collect their finished cake smash wall art — a stunning piece that now hangs proudly at home.
